
Job Responsibilities of the Faculty Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs
According to Article 35 of the Executive Regulations of Law No. 49 of 1972, the Faculty Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs performs the following duties under the supervision of the Dean:
- Managing student affairs within the faculty and overseeing students’ practical training.
- Reviewing departmental proposals regarding teaching assignments and exams from outside the faculty for submission to the Faculty Council.
- Supervising students' sports and social activities.
- Overseeing the teaching of national courses and military education at the faculty.
- Supervising the affairs of international students.
- Preparing matters for discussion at the faculty’s annual scientific conference within the relevant scope.
Additional Tasks
- Overseeing the preparation of databases as a foundation for decision-making and regular reporting for the Education and Student Affairs sector.
- Participating in faculty development and accreditation projects.
- Monitoring and updating student data in the university’s database and maintaining accurate records.
- Contributing to training programs organized by the faculty to enhance the skills of its staff.
- Reviewing examination schedules before approval.
- Supervising evaluation processes to ensure proper implementation and resolving related issues (whether periodic or end-of-year assessments).
- Monitoring academic advising.
- Ensuring adherence to office hours.
- Addressing urgent problems, making necessary decisions, and proposing solutions for dealing with such issues.
- Preparing comprehensive reports on educational performance, evaluating performance and challenges, addressing application issues, and recommending strategies for future improvement.
Job Requirements
The Faculty Vice Dean is appointed according to Article 47 of Law No. 49 of 1972, which stipulates that the appointment is made from among the faculty professors by university decision, based on the Dean’s nomination, for a term of three years, renewable once.
